Most training portals are built for universities and then sold to businesses. Learn was built the other way round: for an operation with branches, staff turnover, and a regulator who will eventually ask for evidence.
The questions it exists to answer are the awkward ones. Who has not done their POPIA training? Which branch is behind? Can you produce the certificate for the person who left in March? Everything below serves those answers.
How training gets to people
Courses are built from units, and a unit can be almost anything you already have — a PDF, a Vimeo video, a PowerPoint deck, a SCORM package from a content vendor, or text written in the portal. You are not re-authoring existing material to get it in here.
- PDF documents with an in-portal viewer
- Video modules via Vimeo embed
- PowerPoint (.pptx) imported as a slideshow
- SCORM 1.2 and 2004 package hosting
- Text and rich-content modules
Proving someone actually learned it
A course can be gated behind a quiz, so a unit only counts as complete once the learner has passed. Pass marks, retry limits and feedback are set per course. On a pass the certificate is generated and emailed automatically, with a unique number you can verify later.
- Single-choice, multiple-choice and true/false questions
- Configurable pass thresholds and retry limits
- PDF certificate issued automatically on a pass
- Globally unique, publicly verifiable certificate numbers
- Re-certification rules with expiry alerts
Exam integrity
Where an assessment carries real consequence, the quiz engine can be tightened. Three levels: off, monitor, or a soft browser lockdown that enforces fullscreen and blocks copy and paste. Monitored attempts capture tab switches and focus loss, and each attempt gets a risk badge a reviewer can open to see the full event timeline.
- Three strictness levels: Off / Monitor / Lockdown
- Captures tab switches, paste, focus loss and fullscreen exits
- Automatic High / Medium / Low risk badge per attempt
- Reviewer panel with the full event timeline
Getting people onto the system
Learners are invited by email with a time-limited link, imported in bulk from a staff register or spreadsheet, or synced from a connected system. Courses can be assigned automatically by job role, so a new Sales Executive lands with the right induction already waiting.
- Invite-link onboarding with a 72-hour token
- Branded invitation and reminder emails
- Bulk import via staff register or CSV / XLSX
- Job-role based automatic course assignment
Knowing where you stand
The dashboard is the point of the whole thing. Completion rates, who is overdue, which branch is lagging — with drill-down by learner, course or department, and export to CSV, Excel or PDF when someone needs it in writing.
- Real-time completion and compliance dashboards
- Drill-down by learner, course and department
- Export to CSV, Excel and PDF
- Full audit log of all activity
On a phone, in a dealership, on bad signal
The people who most need the training are rarely at a desk. The portal is fully responsive with no app to download, caches course content as the learner goes, and queues completions to sync when signal returns.
- Responsive on any smartphone or tablet
- Offline cache-as-you-go course viewer
- Completion sync queue when back online
- Optional WhatsApp reminders
About this demo
You will be signed into the real product with a sandbox training academy — six branches, sixty-one people and a live compliance dashboard. It is read-only: you can open every screen, but anything that would save, send or delete is refused with a note explaining what the live system would have done. Nothing you do here affects anyone.
Where to start
Begin as the Portal Administrator to see the compliance picture across the whole group, then switch to the Training Manager to watch the same data narrow to just two branches. Finish as the Learner to see what your staff actually get. The contrast between those three views is the product.
- Group-wide compliance dashboard and completion rates
- The full course library, including drafts
- Every learner across all six branches
- Certificate register and audit trail
- Dashboard scoped to Umhlanga and Claremont only
